The battle lines of summer landscaping have clearly been drawn. I wanted to make an inexpensive weed killer for the walkway beside my house without using harsh chemicals.
Disclaimer: Vinegar is non-selective, it kills weeds or your petunias. I only use this in the cracks of the sidewalk, and along the walk way.
Pet Friendly π
- Pour 1 gallon of white vinegar into a bucket.
- Stir in 2 tablespoons of Dawn Dish soap. This will act as a natural surfactant and make the vinegar and salt solution stick to the weeds.
- Add 1 cup of table salt. Stir the solution until all salt dissolves completely.
- Drench weeds with the solution on a dry sunny day. Coat all surfaces well. Any plants soaked with this solution with die within a few days.
Enjoy your weed free sidewalk!
