For our anniversary, J.D. and I decided to go back to the same resort we spent our Honeymoon. The Grand Palladium Lady Hamilton in located in Lucea, Jamaica.
What we loved so much about Jamaica is the laid back Island lifestyle. We definitely do well on Island time. I can’t say enough good things about Jamaica. The people were friendly, the food was great, I always felt safe, and it was adventurous.
Arriving at the Grand Palladium, We were warmly greeted by a bellman who took care of our bags and gave us a welcome drink. I have always heard of horrible check in processes at hotels out of the country. This was not the case for us. We were check in within minutes and being shuttled to our villa. We ended up having an extraordinary ocean view suite on the Lady Hamilton side. Our first few days were filled with activities, We did a couples massage. J.D. had never had a full body massage before, his mind was blown. I think I know what my birthday, Christmas, and Valentines day gifts will be from now on 😉
Our second day we decided on a combo excursion. We started with the 9 Mile Village where Bob Marley, was born and laid to rest after his death. we Learned and about his life, his loves, and the places where he gained inspiration for his songs. J.D. even sat on his meditation stone overlooking Mout Zion. We then Visited the mausoleum where he was laid to rest. This is considered a sacred place, where shoes must be removed ,and candles can be lit in his memory.
After the 9 Mile tour, We ate an amazing Jerk Chicken Lunch and then headed down the mountain side to the Beautiful cascading waterfalls of Dunn’s River Falls. A Jamaican treasure offering 600 feet of climbing. It is one of Jamaica’s most popular and famous attraction. I got a bit scared with all the heights and opted to get off and hike the last half. ( I did however, climb the steepest point of the falls) — with only a minor meltdown
The Remainder of our time in Jamaica was spent relaxing and enjoying each others company, and disconnecting from everything and everyone else. We settled into our vacation routine of early mornings, afternoons of reading, lost time at the pool bar followed immediately by a nap, and long romantic dinners.
